Joseph Mortimer/Mary Anne Connelly
Pl's Great Grandparents
There is no civil cert as the marriage predated their introction for catholics. Their church marriage cert gave me the following information:
- Joseph was already living in Glasnevin in 1861.
- Mary Anne was living in Great Britain Street, later Parnell Street.
- His father's name was Thomas and his mother's Ellen.
- His parents lived in [what appears to be] Collon, Louth.
- Her parents were Thomas and Catherine,
- Her parents lived in [what appears to be] Inver Lodge, [possibly in] Oughterard. If this is so, they lived on the Estate of Lord Lieutenant Dudley.
- They had a dispensation from the Archbishop. Possibly because she was under 21 [18?] and did not have the consent of her parents or they were dead.
- She may have had a sister, or an aunt, working in Ellen Berry's milliner's in Great Britain Street.
