P�l's Grandfather


His birth cert gave me the following information:

• He was born in Glasnevin where both his parents lived.
• His father's name was Joseph and he was a carpenter.
• His mother's name was Mary Anne and she was born a Conaly (which I now think is Coneely).
• He was born on 28 March 1870. I initially missed the fact that the time of his birth was given on the cert which suggests he was a twin, which is precisely how it turned out. I found out from his mother's death cert, and subsequently that of William, that he had a brother William, whom Patrick reported as being three years younger than himself, but who, on further investigation, turned out to be his younger twin (by 55 minutes).
