Foley's / Reilly's Pub,
Upper Merrion Street,
Dublin,
Ireland
Whatever about multicultural sandwich boards, Foley's has redeemed itself somewhat in its reaction to the recently introduced smoking ban.
An almost total smoking ban in all workplaces, including pubs, was introduced in Ireland in March 2004. Smokers then had to go outside for a drag and this led to landlords providing suitable wall ashtrays to avoid the otherwise inevitable litter of ash and butt. The quips on these can be quite amusing. The original three outside Foley's were varied but have now been replaced by a single, and more negative, theme emphasising a major disadvantage of smoking.
Hover the cursor over the yellow wall ashtrays to get the message.
