This is the old County Hall in Caernarfon, incorporating the Courthouse and the original Jail. It is topped by a large statue of Justice. The street name sign is beside the last column on the right.
This is Justice blindfolded. It looks as if she has lost her scales from her right hand. Appropriate as this may be, it is unlikely to have been the intention of the sculptor in his original creation.
This barred window at street level is where the old cells used to be. The modern cells have relocated to a different part of the building.
County Hall was built in 1863-4. It is constructed from various local materials: limestone, granite and slate. It stands on the site of various County Halls (Shire Houses) dating from 1284 onwards.
